two snowstorms in five days, aren't we excited here in the mid atlantic? if only we had some mountains we'd be all set.

i had my new monsters yesterday, Gemzar, and they told me i'd feel like i never even had chemo. after the flu-like symptoms passed - achy body, a couple of chills, and a raging headache - i shook myself out of bed gently this morning. i wasn't sure what to expect. but i pretty much felt like myself. after eating a normal breakfast we geared up and went outside to see what ma nature had left for us.

a thick, heavy, wet blanket of snow was on the ground, and we only hoped the snowblower would give up the fight against us and work for this storm. luckily, rotten was here to employ his lego instruction manual reading skills and managed to change the belts and got it up and running. in the meantime, i built a snowman in the backyard, and as i was rolling his abdominal area, a huge branch fell from the white pine tree about ten yards from me. it would have been a bummer if it had landed on my head. so, i hurried to finish the snowman and leave him in the yard with the ominously snow-piled branches looming above. we cleared the driveway, cleaned off the cars, and called it good for a first round.

i've had a nap and now we're thinking about venturing back out to do some snowshoeing. gorilla just took off in the backyard, nearly mouthing a squirrel. it would have been my fault, as the snow isn't deep enough for the squirrels to get away, and i didn't see it out there when i let her out there.

i'm liking the gemzar so far, if this is how it goes. i just hope it is laying waste to the cancer in me.
