i've been coughing SO much lately i somehow managed to pull some muscle(s) along the right side of my rib cage. every time i cough it feels something like i imagine being stabbed would feel. a couple of times it has made me a little nauseous. it has been keeping me up at night. officially, it is time to call the doctor, and just check in. yup.

yesterday while driving in new england we passed a huge logging truck loaded with christmas trees. in my giddy holiday excitement i started crying. a truck of trees made me cry, i was so happy to have made it to another holiday season. i am not even kidding.

then, last night, in the shower, after seven hours of driving and four hours of skiing and two hours of driving before that, i was enjoying the warm, damp air and breathing well for the first time all weekend when i sneezed, violently. cue the stabbing feeling. the swear words. then my nose started bleeding profusely.

if i was a nintendo game, this is the point where you bang on the console, take the game out, swear, blow in the cartridge, and hope to the video game goddesses that the game won't freeze AGAIN when you're in the middle of almost beating the hardest level ever.

i can't even make this stuff up.

and the photo, that's moose stew from last year's spruce in exile dinner at the farm. for some reason i have it saved on my computer at work. that dinner was wonderful. so there you have it.

liz - we've only met once or twice however I have followed your blog and it is apparent you are an incredibly strong woman with an appreciation that most do not have for life and all of the intricacies that make it special.

stay strong as only you are. you are nothing short of amazing. :)
