batten down the hatches...

here's hoping the chemo hamsters of doom have been raining down coconuts on my cancer.
had a lovely morning at the hospital for my PET scan. arrived 8:15 for an 8:30 appointment. finally injected with radioactive goodness at 9:45. subsequently drank my barium milkshakes. scan began at 10:30. all finished at 11:30. lunch with mom, drive home, stop for gas.
they really are asking a lot to drink those milkshakes on an empty stomach. mine still hasn't really learned how to cope with them. they are lemony/coconutty and have a consistency of wet chalk. if you hadn't eaten in 12+ hours isn't that what you'd want in your belly?
the big news will arrive sometime after 8:30 tomorrow morning. i hope it is good, and i hope i get to play host to more chemo. puhleasssse...

ps... tell them that the chalk milkshakes make you sick and that you'd like them to mix the stuff with your own juice. Bring thirty two ounces of some kind of juice that you don't normally enjoy on a regular basis. They will mix the barium right in the juice and it is smooth and not as terrible as the chalk. I take vitamin water. It isn't the greatest but it is better than the chalk shake.
Good luck tomorrow.
