change on the way

today is exciting.

the weather is going to change. no more hot and humid, august-ass weather in october. i went for a run last night and regretted it nearly the entire time. i hate regretting my runs. i am trying to make friends with running again; my body enjoys the biking much more. last night was not the night to make nice. way too hot. blah! but it is changing! the weather, thank goodness, is making a turn for the autumnal. quick, go out and buy some fleece!

how do i know? well, it only takes one look at the weather channel to know for sure. additionally, however, the squirrels are going nuts. no pun intended, but ok, you can say it, that's funny stuff. this morning i was french pressing my decaf and a squirrel jumped from the maple outside the kitchen window onto the window screen. he was bewildered. he ran around on the screen for two or three minutes, wondering what the heck to do next. how did i get here? what do i do? where are my nuts? how do i get down? he made a flying leap and just barely grabbed a branch and was back in the tree. i was wolfing down my whole grain flakes and strawberries (say what you will about organic out of season produce in october) and one of his squirrel friends decided to do the same screen dance. i've never seen behavior like this out of the estate squirrels. this one was smaller, and had a harder time returning to the safety of the tree. but they're going crazy and the weather is turning.

my scars are itching like crazy. they only itch when we're going to get rain. call me old and crazy, but it is true. when i scratch the big one om my side i involuntarily shake my foot. ok, not really, but it itches like mad. the weather is turning. fantabulous.

and if the weather doesn't change, at least i am getting my hairs cut this afternoon. change is promised. exciting.

now, back to work. man, that pb&j was tasty.

the only thing crazy here is French-pressed decaf.

Come on now.

That's like driving a Porsche to a homeless shelter.
