dreaming all night

i had my second "hair" dream last night. my hair was back, just as it was in the photo above. while i really prefer my hair most when it is nice and short, when it starts getting longer it sticks out from under my hats quite nicely, er, sloppily. any way you call it, i also like it that way. in the dream i was swimming in a lake somewhere in the northwoods, and when i got out i could shake my head much like a dog shakes its body and water would go flying. for some reason it must have been cold in my dream at some point, too, because i also found myself in a hat, much like in the same photo above. i don't remember much else, other than when i woke up i once again really truly believed i would have hair on my head. well, more hair than is there now. soon enough.

it has been a good 24 hours or so for wildlife spotting. yesterday on my way home from work i spotted a red tailed hawk playing on an updraft over a beautiful snow dusted field. i took it as a good sign - even though it wasn't more than twenty degrees outside there was spectacular life, apparently playing without a care in the world, at the whim of the wind. it was one of those moments i wish i could get on film, the view as i spotted him through my windshield and then again (i slowed to nearly a stop on the empty road) through my sunroof. set it to music and there you have it.

then, last night we spotted white tailed deer at, of all places, the bird feeders in the back yard. these might be lazy deer, as it hasn't been much of a winter and i think there is still plenty of forage, even green growth, around to keep them happy. but it was still quaint to see them and even more entertaining when gorilla dog was released to chase them along on their way.

this morning when i woke up i put on my glasses and looked out the window and just happened to spot two red tailed hawks chasing one another along the trees that shadow the creek. they flew out of sight pretty quickly but i was still amazed at my luck in seeing them at all, and i think they must be living nearby, as i have spotted them before. i also saw a red tailed hawk being harassed by two crows while i was out on my run this afternoon.

the crisp winter air seems to have put everything wild in quite a lively mood. me, i am saving my energy for next week.

like a kid waiting for santa, i am...

Hi, I got here from forty15's site. I had Ovarian Cancer two years ago at age 30. I can completely relate to the dreams about hair. I had them all of the time when I was bald. In fact I still have them... My straight hair grew in really curly. Now I have dreams about straight hair.

Stay strong. Enjoy life. Good luck.

Sam
