cheerios and goldfish

my head is hot. it itches a bit, the little prickly leftover once-curls are ceaselessly poking me, i want to hide it under a hat, but like i said, it is already hot. and not in a good way.

if i had a snowdrift, say, like the one in the picture, i'd do a swan dive right into it. i bet that might spell relief for a while.

this round has hit a little harder than the last one. and i was so excited about being on the ball, knowing what to expect, what to do to pass the time, what to eat when i needed a little energy, all that stuff. well, i guess since the chemicals last round had already wrecked some havoc, this time i am not getting off as easily as i'd hoped. and trust me, "easy" in this sense is a relative term. i wasn't expecting not to suffer. i just thought i knew what i was getting myself into. au contraire, lizzy. instead i am trying to quietly pass the time by sleeping a lot and eating meager bits of food most familiar from childhood - semi flat ginger ale, original goldfish crackers (the cheddar ones taste like ketchup, see other post), chicken soup, jello. it is like all those sick days as a child rolled into one.

not that i mean to complain too much; i am thankful for the war being waged inside me. the way i look at it, i've had to spend so much time sitting on my butt this fall that once i finally beat this thing i won't want to sit still at all, so i might as well enjoy it while i can.

if only i could find a comfortable position to sleep in...
