sexiest cancer patient alive?

there have been more than a few folks wanting to see a shot of me with my new short hair. check it out now, while i still have it. i think it is starting to fall out. don't even begin to question why the gorilla dog is on the bed. she is the biggest bed hog in the history of the world. even i cannot contend. and i am a champion-caliber bed hog. after returning home from our run (never underestimate the athletic abilities of a chubby dog and her cancer-ridden owner!) the other day, i took a shower and well, since she is a dog and does not take showers, casey decided to take a nap. when i got out of the shower, she was sleeping with her head on the pillow. are you kidding me? in the photo she is slightly annoyed. "why did you wake me up to take a photo of your haircut, you stupid human?" because i can, and because the cuteness of the dog will make folks think my haircut looks better.

no, seriously. i like my short hair. i really wish it would stick around for a while, but i think this weekend might be it. i have an armada of hats waiting in the wings. one for every day of the week and then some. hats for under ski helmets, hats for running in, hats that are funny for days when i feel like i need a laugh every time i look in a mirror, hats for occasions when i have to be a bit more presentable. the only hat i am lacking is the elusive "dress up" hat. luckily i don't have much reason to be dressed up for the holidays (historically speaking) so i should probably be able to quietly squeak by.

this afternoon i braved wegman's to pick up some organic fixings for thanksgiving and for dinner and for snacking. they have a pretty extensive organic section but a surprising lack of organic and/or free range meat. just in case you are in the market. i finally found some omega-3 flax seed supplements, i say that like i've been on a crusade. i haven't looked too much, but i was trying to keep it at 1000 mg like the nutritionist suggested and i kept finding more than that. so today i found it, and i am stoked to avoid the fish oil pill, that just sounds funky. i also landed some ginger-o's made by the famous paul newman, they are tasty treats and i decided i needed a tasty treat. finally, i have been a fan of george clooney for most of my teenage and young adult life, and he is gracing the cover of people's sexiest men alive issue right now so i picked it up. i had such a long day today after a night of no sleep that mindless trash is precisely what i needed.

i cannot wait to get some sleep. i'll power through the next few hours and finally fall asleep easily tonight, i hope. sweet dreams...
