ketchup is yucky...

the title of this post and the photo above have nothing to do with each other. i just wanted to let you know that right off the bat.

the title has to do with the snack of french fries (organic, crinkle-cut) i made for myself this afternoon. potatoes seem to be one thing i can consistently satisfy myself with when my chemo stomach is hungry but my chemo appetite says, very firmly, NOOOOO to everything else. this afternoon i thought some ketchup might go along with it, because well, i was looking directly at a plate of french fries. i learned my lesson. ketchup tastes like rotten garbage. lesson learned, no more ketchup. maybe for life. i'm holding off on the fries, no matter how healthy, for now, too.

the photo, on the other hand, is of bunn-zilla, a fearsome creature encountered while in glacier national park this summer. samara and i had undertaken a very physically exerting hike around the lake at the lodge (before a beer? after one?) and while we were most concered with maybe running into a bear, we instead found bunn-zilla, the ferral, fanged, fantastic critter you see above. ok, ferral, yes, and probably fanged... rabbits have fang-like teeth, maybe... but samara had read about this creature in a 4th grade book and we steered clear of the ruthless mongrel.

we completed our circumnavigation of the lake, and were later treated to views of a mom grizz and her cubs, RIGHT WHERE WE HAD BEEN HIKING AN HOUR EARLIER. whew. good thing we missed that encounter.

that's the story from here tonight. exciting, edge of the seat stuff, i know. but it has been that kind of a day.

smooches...
