horizontal rain
the rain is pounding on the window, which can mean only one thing. horizontal rain. the weather guys are calling for big time winds and maybe even a tornado this evening. need i remind anyone that we're currently well into november here? ridiulous. at least steamboat received a bunch of snow this week. the skiers are happy somewhere...
today was another big day. i got most of my hair chopped off in preparation for when it starts falling out on its own. sam, the super cool guy who cuts mom's hair, offered to let me come in early to have it done; once he started cutting he became a little unsure that he wanted to do it. you see, none of my hair is falling out yet, and he wanted to make sure i was sure i wanted it gone. i have a lot of hair, and maybe if i am lucky it will just thin. but i am not holding my breath. i wanted it shorter - it is easier to take care of and won't be so traumatic when it comes out and i need to have it cut again, for good, for now. so anyway, it is shorter than i've had it in recent memory, maybe the shortest ever. but i still look like me, so you'll still recongnize me if you see me in the grocery store or something.
today's the first day all week that i felt somewhat crappy. i came home at lunch time and went to sleep until about 4pm and probably could've kept right on sleeping. i suppose my body's trying to tell me something, and contrary to what i would typically do, power through it, i think this is the time to listen closely and give it what it wants. sleep? you got it. i'm pretty lucky in that i haven't been miserable with side effects and i don't really want to start, so i am going to keep my body happy as can be.
in other news, weston and i checked out "borat" last night and i have to tell you that i did laugh out loud at a few parts , but mostly i cringed as he went way over the top, way past the line, etc. maybe you should rent it. just don't let a child near it. it was so good to get out, though, and i am psyched for the weekend and some fun activities. i have to rest up so i can keep going then.
for now, though, i'm going to kick back and listen to the rain and maybe read a bit. it is a good night for that kind of thing.
