1/2 mile marathon

today i ran a half mile. no, not half marathon; MILE. it was a momentous occassion. i hadn't run in more than a month. i was worried before it happened that i wouldn't even be able to make it. but in the end, i did make it, and if we hadn't been running so quickly i think i could have even gone a mile. the best part was that i had a few folks to run with and a few fans at the finish line.

i think the experience will serve as a good reminder for me down the road; i have always had a tendency to doubt myself, but in the end, i always end up fine. this whole cancer thing, see, is kind of like that, but i'm not letting myself think for a second that i can't beat it. i just can't afford myself those thoughts. instead, i'll put my head down and do it, probably (considering my track record) better than i would have expected.

in other news today, i have a cavity. i'm not even kidding you. i wish i was. but that sh t has to be drilled out on monday, because on tuesday i start chemo. so before you even BEGIN to complain about your week next week, consider the circumstances. a cavity.

who in the world is writing this script, anyway?!
