+ one week
today was a big day. finally moving on toward fighting this thing. i met with a doctor from upenn and her team and learned a bit about my diagnosis, the plan for treatment, and the drugs they'll be using. i am going to take the rest of this week to digest it, research some things, mentally prepare and try to enjoy something each day.
tonight i really enjoyed the sunset. it was a spectacular one, with crazy clouds reflecting the sun as it changed colors in an otherwise crystal clear sky. i also really enjoyed the view outside the elevators on the 12th floor; it looks out over the stadium at penn and toward the funky new blue building on philly's skyline. i think it is funny that i once thought i'd like to live in a city; i really enjoy the country life, or a hybrid of the two.
i also found out that it is ok to ride my bike (as much as my lungs can handle) so i will do it for the first time again this weekend. a short, slow, ride that will give me a fresh head to bring into chemo treatment with me on tuesday morning.
tuesdays are turning out to be big days. i'll take any day, though, as long as i'm fighting and i hear from my friends. this stuff is exhausting and maddening, hope-inspiring and motivating, all at the same time.
more later, though. i'm beat. smooches.
